CDS celebrates third award

Monday, May 09, 2011

CDS has won a third Award of Excellence for Defence Codex Magazine, a quarterly print and online publication covering defence science and technology, produced for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Defence Codex was launched just over three years ago and has won Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC) awards each year. The latest award recognises the relaunch and redesign of the print issue.

CDS’ Creative Director, Tony Mawson explains: "We were faced with the challenge of doing more with less under the current government budget restrictions. Defence Codex is an example of how costs can be reduced without losing impact. By working closely with the client we have been able to produce a quality product, cut costs and continue producing this award winning publication."

IoIC judges described Defence Codex as; “Far more fit for purpose than the old version. Neater, better designed, more engaging.”

Awards Chairman, Paul Brasington wrote: “Your work has been judged by leading communication professionals to be among the best in the country."

The IoIC Awards are Europe’s biggest and most prestigious internal communications competition and have been celebrating the best for 60 years.
