Integrated Logistics Support
We supply Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) services to the MOD and private sector industry. The purpose of ILS is to achieve the maximum availability of a system at the minimum whole life cost. We take a ‘cradle to grave’ approach when applying ILS techniques to the whole life support of a system.
We help customers with bid support services at the invitation to tender (ITT) stage of a project. We can analyse initial system designs, using established ILS techniques such as:
- reliability predictions
- maintainability predictions
- failure modes effects and criticality analysis (FMECA)
- reliability centred maintenance (RCM) analysis
These techniques can influence the initial design to enhance availability, reliability and maintainability (AR&M) characteristics of the system at concept stage. Life cycle costing (LCC) analysis can give an early indication of the cost impact of a system’s entry into service and enable the cost implications of different support strategies to be reviewed.
When the design of a system has been accepted by the customer, we can support the entry into service (EIS) and whole life support of the system by assisting in the following areas:
- training needs analysis (TNA)
- training (both development of training material and delivery of training courses)
- technical publications
- illustrated parts catalogues
- initial provisioning and spares recommendations
- logistic support analysis record (LSAR)
- obsolescence management
- spares modelling
- ease of maintenance assessment (EMA)
