Nurture to provide food services to CDS
CDS is proud to announce we will be using local caterers Nurture to provide food for our meetings and corporate events.
Nurture is the food and catering arm of St George’s Crypt. It provides a training and engagement platform for offenders, service users, and anyone who has difficulty in moving their lives forward.
The main objective of Nurture is to establish a safe and trusting environment in which to develop life skills and increase self-esteem and confidence. Nurture do this through a structured catering diploma recording progress and outcomes.
By increasing self-confidence, communication skills and self-esteem, their trainees are more equipped to handle budgeting, healthy eating and negotiating their way through the tenancy process to achieve safe and affordable accommodation and independent living.
Nurture caters for St George’s Crypt residents and members of the public in their Assisi Café, seven days a week.
They have two cafes, one on Armley Town Street and one in Trinity Church, Boar Lane.
Their training team provides outside catering for corporate events, weddings and all other social gatherings.
Who are St George’s Crypt?
St George’s Crypt provides 24/7 emergency accommodation as well as rehabilitation for men and women who are homeless or sleeping rough in Leeds. They also work in partnership with the NHS and other organisations.
CDS chose St George’s Crypt as our Charity of the Year for 2019. We have many exciting fundraising challenges planned and recently a group of staff swapped their desk jobs to help cook and serve lunch to over 100 homeless people.
