Savings through single sourcing and supporting the local economy.

Wakefield Council wanted to appoint a single print supplier to help drive cashable savings on their print spend. With a wide variety of print products in their portfolio, it was essential to engage with an experienced supplier who had the capability to manage a vendor neutral supply chain and support the local economy.

Using our continuous improvement methodology - combining technological advances and industry best practice - the partnership with CDS delivered in the region of £62,000 of additional savings to the Council in 2016/17.

Middlesex University is working in partnership with CDS to deliver a digital strategy to its 1,300 staff and 23,000 students.

As part of this strategy, CDS provides a Digital Mailroom and an Archive and Records Digitisation Service to the university. We also built a bespoke, web-based data repository for the storage of records and archived material.

Our browser-based Print Portal is a comprehensive print management system developed and supported by CDS used to manage all our work covering thousands of print jobs and supporting hundreds of users across our diverse client base.

Template Central (Web2Print) – Design, print, repeat

Template Central is a web to print template system that enables non-designers to create brand compliant products. Your colleagues can enter variable text and select from pre-approved imagery, while the key elements that determine the look and feel of the product are locked down.

It is ideal for including business stationery, leaflets, flyers, posters and newsletters. Approval and workflow processes can be tailored to individual business needs.

CDS Asset Bank: Digital Asset Management

Asset Bank is an on-line Digital Asset Management system that helps our clients to organise, maintain and control the use of a wide range of digital assets – from logos and imagery through to documents and multi-media files.

The system ensures accurate version control and different user rights can be assigned to offer different levels of access to your organisation’s assets.

Case Study: Online web2print for Queen's University Belfast

Queen’s University Belfast, uses Template Central, CDS ‘self-service’ online web2print solution to improve the efficiency of communications work and control costs.

Their Marketing and Creative Services team designers were getting increasingly involved in repetitive work, instead of concentrating on new communications. This led to more and more work being placed with external agencies – incurring unwanted additional expenditure.

CDS recommended that they move regular publications, like newsletters, flyers and postcards, to Template Central, improving efficiency and saving money.
