When a service has to stay up, stay secure and keep serving the people who depend on it, how it's built matters as much as what's built. Here's how we work and where to go for the detail.

We start with the problem, not the solution
We're a consultancy, not a contractor. We work out what actually needs to change before we touch a line of code — and we'll tell you honestly when the obvious answer is the wrong one. The right advice is the one that gets you the outcome, not the one that sells the most work.

We deliver in the open, with value early
We work iteratively, show working software regularly, and prioritise ruthlessly so the highest-value things land first. The same rigour applies whether it's a two-week assessment or a multi-year platform — the scope changes, the discipline doesn't.

Quality is built in, not bolted on
Testing, accessibility and security aren't phases at the end — they're part of how we build from day one. We hold every engagement to a published Engineering Bar: the standard we expect of ourselves. And we're open about it, including where a standard is fully embedded and where we're still raising the bar.

We meet the standards that matter
Much of our work is public-facing government services, so we build to the Government Service Standard, design for accessibility as standard, and align security to recognised frameworks like the NCSC Cloud Security Principles — not as a box-tick, but because they make services better.

You own what we build
We plan handover from the start, not as an afterthought. You get the code, the documentation and the knowledge to run and extend what we've built — and where your team will own it, we involve them throughout. Partnership, not lock-in.

We can keep it running, if you want us to
Handover isn't the only option. For services that can't afford to drift, our Run capability keeps them secure, supported and improving long after go-live, through managed service and ongoing optimisation. You choose: take it in-house, or let us keep it running well. Either way, there's no lock-in.
