CDS team completes Leeds 10K to raise money for local charity

Leeds 10k charity run

CDS colleagues Ben Hopkins and Edd James successfully completed this year’s Leeds 10K for charity on 7 July.

They also raised a fantastic £545 for our local charity of the year, St George's Crypt.

Nearly 6,000 runners from across the region completed the event in Leeds city centre. Large crowds lined the route, there was a fantastic atmosphere and friendly volunteers all contributed to the success of this great run that takes in many historic city centre landmarks.

Edd said: “The huge support from colleagues certainly encouraged me to the start line but seeing so many people running for St George's Crypt got me to the finish… that, and trying to catch Ben.”

St George’s Crypt provides 24/7 emergency accommodation as well as rehabilitation for men and women who are homeless or sleeping rough in Leeds. They also work in partnership with the NHS and other organisations.

CDS chose St George’s Crypt as our Charity of the Year for 2019. We have many exciting fundraising challenges planned and recently a group of staff swapped their desk jobs to help cook and serve lunch to over 100 homeless people.
