Charity bake-off sale success
This week, we held a bake sale in our Leeds office to raise funds for our chosen charity, St George’s Crypt, a homeless charity based in the city.
Inspired by the British Bake Off TV show, staff were set the challenge to bake a signature cake in an attempt to be crowned star baker. In true Bake Off fashion, our judges looked for a good rise, texture, flavour and overall finesse. And of course, no soggy bottoms!
Sixteen CDS baking enthusiasts entered the competition. Two winners tied for first place for best homemade baked product, winning a bottle of fizz and a personalised Great British Bake Off style apron.
Our star bakers were Sukhjinder Manak and John Waters.
Thank you to everyone who baked, as well as those who bought cakes. It was a great event which raised £180. And thanks to the fundraising volunteers from St George’s Crypt who helped judge the competition.
